Today, we’re celebrating the birthday of someone incredibly special to our GES family — our beloved former kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Dodd. 💗
Students and staff wore pink today as a simple way to honor her memory and the joy and warmth she brought to our school. Though she passed away in September, her impact continues to be felt every day in our classrooms and in the hearts of those who knew her.
Happy Birthday, Mrs. Dodd. We miss you, we love you, and we are grateful for the legacy you left with our GES family. 💕🌸

🎉 Principal & Assistant Principal for the Day! 🎉
Today, GES was in very capable hands thanks to our auction winners, Everly S. and Ellis S.! These two leaders took their jobs seriously—and had a blast doing it!
They delivered pies to our teachers 🥧, hosted trivia games over the PA 🎤, and even answered phone calls like true professionals! ☎️
A huge thank-you to Pinch of Salt for donating the gluten-free mini pies, and to Buttermilk Sky for the rest of the delicious treats — all purchased and donated by one very thoughtful little turkey! 🦃💛
Everly and Ellis, you made today extra sweet. We loved having you in charge! 📚✨#GESShineOn

📸 Picture Day Vibes! 📸
Say cheese! 😁 Our students brought their best smiles for Picture Day. We can’t wait to see all these picture-perfect faces in the yearbook! #GESShineOn

Strike! 🎳 Last week, our friend Hayes hit the lanes at the Special Olympics Area Bowling Meet! We heard he had an awesome time — way to go, Hayes! We're proud of you!! #GESShineOn

Big cheers for Grapevine Elementary School fifth grader Oliver Chan and Timberline Elementary School first grader Charlotte Maxwell who were the Junior Captains at last week’s varsity football game. Joe Garcia from the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation, which sponsors the Junior Captains program, welcomed our students to the game.

📚✨ It’s almost Book Fair Week at GES! ✨📚
We’re so excited to welcome families for Lunch with a Loved One — happening over five fun days! You get to pick the day that works best for you and your reader. 💕
Just a quick heads-up: the Book Fair will not be open on Friday, 10/31 (our books need a rest day too 😄).
Spreading out the visits helps keep our cafeteria and library comfy and cozy for everyone. Phew!
Are you planning to join your child for lunch? 🍎🥪 Sign up here so we can get ready for all the smiles and stories! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdzFvBhqh_nGBi0A9ha7MlvDNULrMKStLxs8e9IUEndOvW9DQ/viewform

✨📚 Happy Open the Magic Day! 📚✨
Today is all about celebrating the magic of picture books, and our GES family joined in by heading outside to enjoy the sunshine! Like many drills we practice each month, we need to practice READING, and what a beautiful morning it was to do it!🌞📖
There’s nothing quite like opening a book and stepping into a world of imagination and wonder! 💫 #GESShineOn

This morning, Ms. VanHook's 1st grade class is working on a mural based on the book Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood. These little artists are transforming their hallway one brush stroke at a time!! Thank you to our parent volunteer, Mrs. de la Cruz, for making this happen for our students! #GESShineOn

🎨✨ Happy International Dot Day! ✨🎨
Today, we celebrate the power of a dot — the simple mark that starts a journey of creativity, courage, and self-expression. 🌍💡
Inspired by "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, Dot Day reminds us all to make your mark and see where it takes you. 🖌️ Whether you're an artist, a dreamer, a thinker, or a doer — it starts with just one dot. 🎯
💬 How are YOU making your mark today?
