Who are we?

The GCISD Elementary Honor Choir is an auditioned ensemble of 4th and 5th grade students from all 11 elementary schools in GCISD.  Students have the opportunity to sing challenging repertoire, make new friends from across the district, learn from GCISD choir faculty, and perform at a concert and choir festival. Students must participate in their campus choir to be eligible to audition for the honor choir.

How do I audition?

Auditions for the choir are held at each elementary campus. Your music teacher will send home a flyer to fill out and return.

What will the choir wear?

Black pants, solid black sneakers (no white soles), black socks, and a GCISD Elementary Honor Choir t-shirt.

What does being in the choir cost?

There is a $35 fee to cover a t-shirt, binder, and sheet music expenses. (A $5 late fee will be applied if fees are paid after January 11th at the parent meeting.)
We plan to attend a festival in the spring that will require an additional fee. of $20
No student will be excluded from the GCISD Honor Choir or any related event for financial reasons.
